IMMERSO HOTEL
Ericeira, Portugal 2019
The design of the hotel’s outdoor areas is strongly based on native vegetation and locally sourced materials. It seeks to blend seamlessly into the natural landscape through discreet pathways that meander across the terrain, allowing guests to enjoy panoramic views and reach various leisure areas along the way.
Interventions on the land, shaped to restore the original topography as much as possible, are sparse and organic in character:
• Pool garden – serves as a transition between the large wooden deck surrounding the pool and the landscape, featuring a composition of wooden platforms and perennial herbaceous plants.
• Guest room gardens – narrow shrub hedges provide privacy between the individual room terraces.
• Outdoor restaurant/kitchen – located on a mid-slope terrace, this area includes an amphitheater and fire pit, supported by wooden shading structures.
• Vegetable garden – arranged on two terraced levels for balanced and sustainable vegetable cultivation.
• Fitness area – equipped open-air gym.
• Lower-level lounge area – a secluded, paved space located at the end of the pedestrian path, ideal for yoga or other introspective activities.
• Deck lounges – two wooden decks projecting slightly over the terrain, functioning as seating and lookout points that offer privileged views.
